If you’ve been thinking about booking an intimate couples session but aren’t totally sure what to expect, this is for you.

Most couples I work with tell me the same thing at first—they love the idea of photos that feel real and emotional, but they’re a little nervous about being in front of the camera. And honestly, that’s completely normal. My sessions aren’t about being perfect or posed the whole time. They’re about creating space for you to just be together and to fully connect.

From the very beginning, the process is simple and laid back. Once you reach out, we’ll talk through your vision, the kind of vibe you’re drawn to, and what you want your photos to feel like. Some couples want something soft, playful, and romantic and others lean more moody and intimate, especially if we’re shooting later in the evening. There’s no one way to do it.

Location plays a big part, especially here in Florida. If you’re drawn to something a little more intimate and stripped back, studio sessions are a really beautiful option. No wind, no crowds—just the two of you in a quiet space with soft light and a more intentional feel. I use hand-selected studio rentals that match the mood of your session, and I’ll guide you through choosing the right one. Studio rental fees are separate and vary depending on the space. Another option is my primary location - beaches along Hutchinson Island and the Treasure Coast. I also LOVE sessions over on the West Coast of Florida such as Treasure Island and Anna Maria Island areas. Florida's West Coast has the most stunning sunsets. It also boasts some of the clearest, warm, and calmer water if you want to end your session getting wet. Each location has its own feel —some are quiet and tucked away, others have that open, endless shoreline look. We’ll choose something that matches your energy as a couple.

When it comes to what to wear, I’ll guide you without overcomplicating it. Neutrals, solid colors, flowy pieces, or anything that moves naturally with the wind always works beautifully on the beach. Studio sessions can be slightly different - think whites, creams, blacks, or muted earth tones. This keeps it timeless + moody. The goal is to feel like yourself while ensuring your clothing photographs beautifully depending on the location.

The actual session feels a lot more like a date than a photoshoot. I’ll give you direction when you need it, but nothing is stiff or overly posed. I might have you walk together, pull each other in close, or just stand there and sync your breathing with your partner for a second. The in-between moments are usually the ones you end up loving the most.

If you’re worried about feeling awkward, I completely understand —but that feeling usually fades within the first few minutes. We can play your favorite playlist in the background to really set the mood. Once you settle in, it becomes less about the camera and more about the connection between you two. That’s where the magic is.

Timing-wise, most beach sessions happen around sunset. Florida light hits differently in the evening—it’s softer, warmer, and a little more cinematic. If you’re drawn to moodier images, we can even lean into blue hour or early night sessions for something a little different. Studio sessions have more flexible times available for great, natural lighting as the studios I book have windows, allowing all of the beautiful, natural light.

After your session, I carefully go through and edit your gallery to match the tone of your session —warm, intimate, and true to how it actually looked and felt. Nothing overly saturated or forced.

At the end of it all, what you’re left with isn’t just a set of photos. It’s a glimpse into your relationship as it is right now. The way you naturally interact, the quiet moments, the way you look at each other when nobody is watching.

And that’s really the whole point.

If you’ve been wanting something that feels more like you and less like a traditional photoshoot, an intimate couples session might be exactly what you’re looking for.

I photograph couples throughout Florida, from Hutchinson Island and the Treasure Coast, to Florida's West Coast beaches including Anna Maria Island and Treasure Island. If you’re ready to plan your own dream session, you can reach out here.
